We stayed here for a month and immediately felt right at home. We always had parking right outside. The rooms are bright and spacious and we loved the office off the main bedroom. The backyard is gated and provides a nice space to enjoy the outdoors. The location was great for us, too. We will definitely return when we go back to STL.Lamont and Joan, one-month stay
Extended-stay home in South St. Louis
Fillmore Downstairs
Three king beds, a real office with a door that closes, and a kitchen you will actually cook in, all on one level of a quiet brick two-family.
Fillmore Downstairs is the house for the weeks when work comes with you. A crew in town for a job, a family waiting out repairs on their own place, a couple here for a month with the dog: everyone gets a king bed, the office gives one of you somewhere to take calls, and street parking right outside means nobody circles the block. Guests who stayed a month told us they felt at home the first night and had a spot out front every time.
It is the first floor of a classic South City brick two-family, freshly renovated with white walls, deep blue accents, stained glass over the beds, and light wood floors throughout. Your own private entrance, a back deck with trees behind it, and a fenced backyard for throwing the ball.
- Pet-friendly, fenced yard
- King bed in every bedroom
- Real office with a door
- Back deck
- Free street parking
- Utilities and internet included
Room by room
Blue accent wall, fireplace, room for six
A cream sectional and two navy armchairs around a decorative fireplace, with a flat-screen TV above it for streaming and board games in the coffee table. Big front windows, a ceiling fan, and the original stained glass keep it bright and cool.
Marble backsplash, butcher block, three ways to make coffee
Slate-blue cabinets, stainless appliances, a dishwasher, and butcher-block counters with open shelves of glassware. Drip, Keurig, and kettle are all here, along with real cookware, a blender, a toaster, and baking sheets. The bench-style table seats six and is where most guests end up working during the day.
Three kings, one office, one full bath
Every bedroom has a king bed with fresh linens, a nightstand with a USB charger, a dresser, a closet with hangers, and a ceiling fan; two have their own Roku TV. The main bedroom opens through French doors to a private office with a desk and chair. The full bath has a tub and shower combo with original tile, stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer.
Back deck, fenced yard, laundry, parking
The covered back deck looks out over mature trees and is where guests take their morning coffee. The backyard is fenced and shaded, with room for the dog to run. A washer and dryer are down the back stairs in the basement, shared with the upstairs home. Free street parking out front, and guests tell us there is always a spot.

What guests say about Fillmore Downstairs
Rated 5.0 across 25 reviews. Every review below is from a real stay at this house.
We travel with our two small dogs and they loved it. Has a fenced in backyard, which we would go to in the evening and let the dogs run around. The whole house was nicely furnished and very clean. For us the best part was that all the bedrooms had king sized beds and tvs, which made it a lot more comfortable.Michael, traveling with two dogs
There were several great restaurants close by and the neighbors were very nice. The space was clean and well stocked. We stayed for an extended visit, and found the owners to be very responsive to any questions we had.Tia, extended family stay during repairs on their own home
